2018 Confucius Institute Summer Camp for CI & CC students from Central and Eastern European Countries

(Organized by Hanban)



1. Application Requirements

(1) Students of the Confucius Institute (at least 3-month or 40-hour Chinese learning)

(2) No experience of this kind of summer camp (organized by Hanban) before

(3) Ages between 14-30; in good physical and psychological health condition; be interested in Chinese culture

(4) The number of students in one group is not more than 20. Every group has one group leader

(5) Take one HSK test (no level or score requirement)


2. Fees

(1) Traveling expense (round-trip flight tickets), Visa fees, and international medical insurance fees are paid by applicants.

(2) Accommodation, activity fees, traveling expense and other fees in China are paid by Confucius Institute Headquarters (Hanban)

(3) All fees of the group leader are paid by Confucius Institute Headquarters (Hanban)


3. Time

(1) The whole summer camp will last for 2 weeks in July, 2017.

(2) Students should take part in the opening ceremony of the summer camp in Beijing on July 18th, 2017

(3) Students should stay in Xiamen for several days (Xiamen University is the cooperative institute, and activities in Xiamen will be held by the Southern Base of Confucius Institute Headquarters)





4. Schedule

(1) Registration, review, group forming, submission to Hanban for examination and approval (conducted by the local Confucius Institute)

(2) Training before departure (fees are included in CI’s budget)

(3) Leaving for Beijing (opening ceremony and related activities like climbing the Great Wall)

(4) Going to Xiamen for cultural activities

(5) Going to other cities (Optional)

(6) Coming back to Poland


5. Main Activities

(1) Getting to know Chinese families (living with a Chinese family at least for one day)

(2) Chinese language learning and cultural courses (paper cutting+ Tai Ji +local culture)

(3) Going for a visit (developed region and poor region—rural life experience)

(4) Communication with Chinese students, discussion, classroom observation and so on

(5) Take one HSK test ( levels are optional)
